Geoff Keighley ha annunciato le nomination per i The Game Awards 2021, con Deathloop in testa al gruppo grazie a un totale di nove nomination. Quest’anno Deathloop è stato presentato in varie categorie, tra cui miglior regia, miglior colonna sonora/musica, miglior narrazione, miglior direzione artistica, miglior design audio, miglior gioco d’azione e GOTY. Deathloop ha anche ricevuto due nomination nella categoria Miglior Performance Attoriale, con Jason E. Kelley e Ozioama Akagh.
Ad alimentare la competizione dei Game Awards ci pensano Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart e It Takes Two che hanno ottenuto grandi risultati quest’anno, avendo ricevuto rispettivamente sei e cinque nomination ciascuno in diverse categorie, tra cui la prestigiosa categoria Game of the Year, dove sono apparsi come contendenti insieme a Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2 e Resident Evil Village.
