Albert Einstein’s niece tries Oculus Rift DK 2 with Oculus Rift Italia

Oculus Rift Italia and VIGAMUS – The Video Game Museum of Rome, the only permanent center in the world where people can try Oculus Rift, on the occasion of  a event in Italy dedicated to storytelling and communication (Festival delle Storie), brought Oculus Rift Dev Kit 2 to visitors. Among them, we had the pleasure to meet Lorenza Mazzetti, leading member and co-founder of the British Free Cinema movement, and… niece of Albert Einstein himself! She’s witness and survivor of the Einstein’s family massacre, an experience which she narrated vividly in the award winning book The Sky Falls. You can imagine how much we were humbled in letting someone with such an intense story try Oculus for the first time.

We had the honour to let Mrs. Mazzetti try for the first time the Oculus Rift DK2. Find out with us what she said about the incredible and revolutionary DK2.

After sitting on the chair in front of the PC with the DK2, the first title she wanted to test was Technolust. Although the first comments were a mixing of joy and amazement, once the experience ended, Mrs. Mazzetti jokingly told us: “It’s too dark, I can not see anything.” Finally, Albert Einstein’s niece continued the test by being dragged in the middle of City 17: Yes, in Half-Life 2. Immediately, her interest growed, until her final reaction. Meeting finally a guard, Mrs. Mazzetti felt scared; she felt totally lost, and drastically pushed into the virtual world.

The time spent with a personality like that of Lorenza Mazzetti was very significant from several points of view, and we are excited to share with you this time. Following are some pictures related to this particular day.
